The movie GREEN TRANSITIONS portrays projects of the Slovak non-governmental organization People in Peril and its Kenyan partners. The first story captures local communities on the coast of Kenya. Sustainable use of local natural resources is the denominator for cooperation of the communities and non-governmental organizations. Thanks to protection of the distinctive mangrove forests, economic growth of communities is sustained and the ecosystem of the whole planet is positively affected. The second story takes place in Central Kenya, where People in Peril association helps change the attitude of young people towards agriculture. The aim is to reduce migration from the country to urban areas. The outcome of the move to cities is usually not favorable. Young people end up living in slums and their poverty is even more striking. By participating on a project on a Polytechnic high school in the Nakuru area, students alter their stand towards farming and it influences their attitude towards life and their ideas about the future.
