Step right up for the 2018 KLEFF panel judges for this year’s film competition. This year Azuan Muda, co-founder and CEO of TEEBTV; and our KLEFF Festival Director himself Fadly Bakthiar are back for the third time to once again contribute their expertise in the judging session. Joining them is a new face, Dr. Reuben Clements, a conservation scientist from Sunway University and Rimba. The final judge of KLEFF is local actor as well as an environmental advocate, Mano Maniam, who has been active in both the entertainment and environmental field.
Azuan Muda is the co-founder of TEEBTV, the “Netflix for Indies”, a multi-platform online media company showcasing independent content. Borne from his own experience in independent film production, Teeb TV is the culmination of Azuan’s vision for a Netflix-for-Indies that both curate, publish and distribute independent content to a targeted regional audience.
Challenging himself with a few friends, building innovative companies – Teeb TV is a sum of his achievement, so far, bundling innovative and creative business strategies in media, digital content, branding and entertainment.

Fadly Bakhtiar is the Festival Director of the Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival and Programme Director of EcoKnights. Responsible in the planning and overseeing of the festival, Fadly has been with EcoKnights and KLEFF for 11 amazing years.
With his mission to cultivate people with important environmental issues, Fadly is one of the judges for KLEFF 2018 He believes that films are great medium in injecting environmental awareness to the audience and that it provides an easy access for the public to understand about environmental protection.
As the Festival Director of KLEFF, Fadly has keen eyesight in great films as he has been with KLEFF for nearly a decade.
Dr. Gopalasamy Reuben Clements
Dr. Gopalasamy Reuben Clements is a conservation scientist by training. He received his PhD from James Cook University and obtained his MSc and BSc from the National University of Singapore.
Reuben has accumulated over 10 years of experience in terrestrial and freshwater conservation in Malaysia. He has published over 50 articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as Nature, and his work has been featured in the BBC, New York Times and National Geographic.
Dr. Reuben is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences in Sunway University, and the co-founder of the local NGO Rimba (www.rimbaresearch.org). He manages the Harimau Selamanya project, which focuses on large carnivore population monitoring and protection, and protected area establishment and management.
Mano Maniam has been with the environmental movement for decades, primarily with the Environmental Protection Society Malaysia where he was a previous President. He is also with the MENGO committee. He has developed and led courses in environmental management. He is also an actor on stage and screen, and has produced environmental documentaries for training. With more than 30 years of experience in the entertainment, media and environment industry, Mano will be using his expertise as one of the KLEFF juries, looking forward to films with good messages.
