KLEFF 2018 Announces This Year’s Film Screening Schedule

14th August 2018, Kuala Lumpur – The 11th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF 2018) had officially announced the screening schedule of the seven-day film festival. The KLEFF 2018 panel judges have selected a total of 100 films to be screened at the KLEFF 2018.

This year, screening of films was arranged in each session according to their themes. Among the screening themes are the main theme – Forest, Water and Climate Change, other themes such as Wildlife Conservation, Marine and Sustainability in Community, to name a few.

“From the perspective of someone who has been involved (and watch most of the films) for 11 years, I have to say that in general (all submissions) there are some really good ones down to those that doesn’t hit the spot. Out of the selected films, there are some really outstanding films and the qualities are getting better especially films coming from South East Asia, whereby the issues are close to us. I personally love most of the selected films and it was really tough to decide even the finalists of each categories and special awards. In terms of the whole selections, I think we have achieved our theme this year (Forest, Water & Climate Change) and we are really proud to be screening some of the best stories on various pressing issues, initiatives, leaders and people from around the world, collectively working towards the same goal for a better future of our Earth.” said Fadly Bakhtiar, the Festival Director of KLEFF 2018.

The weekday film screenings are held from 22nd – 26th October (6pm – 11pm) whereas weekend film screenings are from 27th – 28th October (12pm – 11pm). On Friday, 26th October, there will be a special screening night – the ASEAN Film Makers Night, screening films submitted by film makers from ASEAN countries, mainly Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

Public can start reserving tickets for the film screening in September 2018. The exact date will be announced through the festival’s Facebook page. For more information, the KLEFF committee can be contacted at
