KLEFF2016 Introduces Special Collaboration: UNDP-JKR Energy Efficiency in Building Award

Most Malaysians are still not aware of what energy efficiency in building is and pay less attention to it. Public education on how it relates to climate change is also very essential to get a full understanding on why energy efficiency in buildings is important. UNDP BSEEP believes this is the right time to reach Malaysia’s public in spreading the awareness for energy efficiency in buildings and sees the International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) as a good platform for that agenda.

In collaboration between EcoKnights with United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR), we are proudly to introduce new award for the upcoming 9th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF 2016), the UNDP-JKR Energy Efficiency in Building. It will be interesting to see movie makers globally, challenge their creativity to make energy efficiency in buildings entertaining to attract the public to watch. How it is presented by normal people, who are not the experts in energy efficiency or climate change, will make it easier for the public to adapt and understand more about the topic. UNDP BSEEP looks forward to see great ideas presented in the form of videos from this campaign.

Building Sector Energy Efficiency Project (BSEEP) is a national project implemented by Public Works Department (JKR), administrated by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The big picture of the project is to fight climate change by reducing the annual growth rate of GHG emissions from the Malaysia’s buildings sector.
