Nature Themed Art Exhibition at the 10th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival.

October 25 2017, Kuala Lumpur – The 10th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival announced Wajah Bumi, a nature-themed art exhibition by six Malaysian and French artists. The soft launch of Wajah Bumi took place on 25th October at the White Box, Publika from 7pm – 8pm with the appearance of the Wajah Bumi artists.

Wajah Bumi is an up close and personal observation of nature and its people in the Anthropocene age as seen through the eyes of Amri Ginang, Kendy Mitot, Shaq Koyok, Alena Murang, Christian Senat and Florent Mamelle. A fresh interpretative depiction of the civilizations’ evolution in nature, the artists use different mediums and methods as well as stunning visuals of nature in the form of people, landscapes, cultures and traditions.

Curated by the founder of KLEFF, Yasmin Rasyid, the art pieces on display conceptualize the intentional and unintentional consequences of environmental exploitation and neglect. The artworks chronicle the journey of six talented artists in capturing nature first-hand through the power of art.

Yasmin Rasyid (KLEFF Founder and Honorary Advisor) gave her welcoming remarks during the soft launch of Wajah Bumi

“It’s the first time we have six artists together in one nature-themed art exhibition. And we hope that the exhibition will resonate to the festival attendees on the need to balance development and environment. Many of the images focus on indigenous stories, and the beautiful landscapes of the environment, coupled with the faces of the communities that live there. Most of the art on display are for sale where 10% of the proceeds will go towards supporting the 11th KLEFF next year.”
