Assalaamualaikum w.b.t. and greetings to everyone.
First and foremost, I would like to thank the EcoKnights Board of Committee and the President, Yasmin Rasyid for entrusting me as the Festival Director for the 11th International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Fest 2018 (KLEFF2018). The KLEF2018 was successfully organized from the 22-28 October 2018 in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.
KLEFF continues our work towards the goal of providing a platform and access to the latest information, knowledge and experience on various ecological issues and solutions. This is also to educate and increase awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) to Malaysians, particularly the Klang Valley residents, together with our partners and collaborators.
With the strong support of our communities; core team members, interns, volunteers, sponsors and partners, I would love to highlight some of our achievements this year: 101 films screened, 23 film makers attended, 18 workshops, 6 Act 4 SDGs partners, 123 volunteers, 6 media partners and more.
This report was compiled to provide a quantitative and qualitative summary of the major components of KLEFF2018, to give insight of the key achievements and outcomes of our work this year. Our hope is that the readers will gain more understanding on the importance and impact of this festival to the communities and to receive continuous supports from our current partners and possibly new partners as well.
Once again, thank you for everything. We truly appreciate all contributions from everyone and we are already gearing up for KLEFF2019. If you wish to collaborate, all you have to do is to reach out to our team.
Yours Fabulously, FABS
