Title:This film is Garbage! (60).
Synopsis: Fifteen years after his eye-opening examination of the average, everyday waste consumption habits of his fellow Canadians in Garbage! The Revolution Starts At Home, filmmaker Andrew Nisker finds himself more concerned than ever about humanity’s filthy habits. A quick glance outside confirms that the situation is critical. In a world full of performative greenwashing, corporations fueling the fires of mindless consumerism, and governments’ futile efforts to clean up the mess, it’s no wonder that the average citizen has fallen out of touch with the waste we each create, everyday. Enlisting the help of your average condo-dwelling couple and a typical rural nuclear family, Andrew once again embarks on an adventure through our waste, tracing our garbage from our carefully sorted bins to landfills and beyond, and meeting innovators along the way who are working hard to create sustainable alternatives, turning our expendable trash into repurposed treasures.

In the streets, rooftops and gardens of the Portuguese capital, from the wide Tagus estuary to the Monsanto Forest Park, we discover the nature that often goes unnoticed despite living on our doorsteps.

Title: ARMEA
Synopsis: Logline: Through music and dance, Rotuman artists work with their elders to create new ceremonies and renew and revitalize stories of land and ocean. “If you listen to nature, it will lead the way…” Elder Gagaj Taimanav. Steeped in symbolism and no larger than a child’s hand, the diminutive bird known as the Armea is found in only one place on Earth: the Pacific island of Rotuma. After scores of performances around the world and years away from Rotuma, ARMEA opens as the dedicated dancers and musicians of Rako Pasefika make their long awaited return home to the island. Arriving by air yet received just as their seafaring predecessors were, the Rako team engages with creative elders in the hopes of revitalizing ancient stories that are in danger of being forgotten. As Rako prepares to perform a new production inspired by the totemic Armea, their relationships with elders, knowledge keepers, healers, artisans and cultural custodians reveal deep and reciprocal connections to this ancient land and to the immense ocean from which it rises. Both an offering to those who have guided the way — such as the hån lep he rua sacred women — and a promise to sustain sacred art forms for generations to come, ARMEA is an ode to all that is small yet sacred.

Title: The Clean Water Tank Project Mission
Synopsis: In less than 2 minutes you will learn something you did not know about drinking water. This very short film takes a close look at our drinking water and the work of the Ron Perrin Clean Water Tank Project, Inc. They promote and explain the need for cleaning water storage tanks and towers. Cleaning tanks and towers is often forgotten as the interior of the tank is simply out of sight and out of mind. Instead, the focus of many water utilities is on adding more chemical disinfectants to meet federal and state guidelines. Bacteria, protozoa, viruses, and other microbes can use the sediment at the bottom of storage tanks as a habitat to grow and eventually become a health concern. Our Mission: To promote the safe inspection & cleaning of water storage tanks and towers with 1) Publications, 2) Video projects, 3) Safety training, and 4) Support research to explain the dangers hidden in tank sediment and the need to remove it from tanks.
